The set opens on the ice itself. A roped line of hikers climbs through an icefall, one climber stands small among steep blue ridges, and a group walks single file along the floor of a crevasse.

Then it goes inside. The ice caves open only in the cold months, and these frames show why people cross the country for them: a turquoise roof over a gravel floor, a rippled blue ceiling above running meltwater, a ringed tunnel and an arch that opens onto daylight.

After that come the lagoons, where the glaciers end in water. A crevassed tongue meets a grey lake full of icebergs, two small boats sit below a towering ice front, and kayaks thread between the bergs.

The set closes on the two glaciers you can reach in a day from the capital. Grey ash bands the ice underfoot on one, and a snowmobile crosses the flat ice cap of the other in low sun.
